My limited experience of importing which I did in an EU country. When I imported goods they went to normally an airport or clearing sea port and kept in bond. To release I had to pay an import costs and V.A.T. So when a company in the USA imports they will have to pay the import costs instigated by the US goverment. The exporter just shipped the goods with a bill of lading. It’s going to get very expensive!
