ran out my door to see what had to be over 400 people marching down the small town street of Boone, NC. I stood there and cried for almost an entire hour as i watched them come in what seemed like a never ending line of people. It ignited a hope in me that I KNOW we all need. a few of the elderly (which made a good 90% of the crowd despite this being a college town) gave me hugs, and told me they are fighting for my generation <3

Activism and protesting is an inefficient solution. People participate to help bring attention to issues, and show their support. But despite the idea behind activism, when it comes to modern activism, we’re not coming out ahead. Its full of emotion and calling out politicians who continue to do or not do something so it's easy to repost and rewatch as it calls out all activists #1 enemies, politicians. Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t necessarily bad things, but they are distractions. This is where I dive into the downfall of activism.

They complain, but no one continued to care to pursue or support solutions. What I'm getting at here is that modern activism is emotional and media-friendly, but because of things like the media, everyone's attention is focused only on the emotion packed speeches and displays, and not the things that are being done to solve the problems we complain about so easily.
